Today I had a lovely time visiting whitestar. She's the first of my Harry Potter online friends I've ever met and we had a blast. We hung out with our poor menfolk who talked about cars and about how it was strange to date women who love porn more than them. We went to sex shops, had a lovely dinner, and took a tour of San Jose.

I am now home, happier, healthier; 8 gigs of porn, LUSH soaps, and fresh lemons from her backyard richer.

This summer, I will be taking a road trip from Davis to North Carolina. I'm already visitng Lisa, my amazing RP buddy, but I'm curious to see if anymore of you want to meet up/let me stay the night. I'm going to be driving from San Francisco to Cincinnati, Cincinnati to North Carolina, and then back again. If you live along that route, let me know.

Are any of you going to this Harry Potter Convention which will be held in San Francisco, California on the 18-21st of July? I haven't bought my tickets yet, but I will be in the area at the very least (since I live near there). I'd love to meet you.

I also want to apologise for my lack of response to emails and comments lately. My home internet died (posting this at a friend's house) and I've only been able to get online from work and from other people's homes >< On top of that, I recently had my laptop redone and upgraded and it's developed a tic! It randomly jumps back to earlier points in the sentences I am writing. It does this very randomly and jumps backwards different amounts. Spell-check catches most of the mistakes that result from this (and I catch many on my own) but typing stuff takes forever. Until my internet at home gets fixed, I don't want to take the laptop in. Not to mention it is no longer under warranty. ><

Thankfully, I have amazing betas who manage to catch most of my mistakes.

I am going into late to work today just so I can post NoG 48. As I try to be 10 chapters ahead of where I am posting so that I don't miss important plot points and because most of my writing comes in my rewriting, I'm currently working on 58, nearly 59. As of right now, I am still on schedule to complete on 61. It's a bit overwhelming to be near the end. I mean, I know it's not over, because there's still Invictus and the epilogue, but it's the end of Nights of Gethsemane. Which is a huuuuge, long work.

I was feeling a bit down, so I began to reread Frankenstein. In the version I have, they have reviews and essays and such at the end, and I read those to and I was delighted to find a review of Frankenstein that came out shortly after it was published where they talked about how much they hated the book. Frankenstein is my favourite book ever and to see it called rubbish made me feel better about my own bad reviews. Not that I think I am writing anywhere near Frankenstein's level or that I don't need improvement, but I don't have to worry about pleasing everyone. There will always be a few who hate your work.

I found a copy of Wuthering Heights and I've finally begun to read it. It's an interesting book! I think Snape would like it.

One of my brothers is interested in writing, perhaps HP fanfiction and I let it out that I write some and he wanted to read it. As most of mine is just sex, sex, sex, I sent him a Harry/Draco piece I am working on that actually doesn't contain graphic descriptions of sex (shocking I know). He said that it was good, but that Draco was way too feminine. He said, "I can tell girls read this." Haha. I should have him help me with Harry in NoG as he is a 19 year old boy and very blunt in a way that only 19 year old boys can be.

Sorry this took so long. Political fever bit me and I've been volunteering and running around doing things to help this election run smoothly. I'm nervous about Nov 4th, but I hope it comes soon so all this can be over (and I hope it's over right afterwards). I did have time to sneak in a bit of reading that a new person I met suggested to me. It's a WiP called The Danger in Listening and it's Albus Severus / Scorpius. It's the first AS/S fic I've read and if the rest of them are as interesting as that one, I think I found my second favourite pairing.

But NoG comes first! I've been away from this fic for too long and it's killing me. A huge thank you to Rai, Kathy, Randi, Lynne, Jon, Isabel, and everyone else who helped me with this chapter. I couldn't have done it without you guys. Here's the latest chapter:

I'm in a pickle now that I've discovered that LJ can't handle posts over a certain size. Either I do large chapters in chunks like I did 43 or I break them up which means more chapters. For now I've decided to break them up into multiple chapters so the number of chapters I have written has just expanded dramatically. I know some of you are probably dancing with delight because you want this thing to never end, but I was hoping to stick to my goal of 60 chapters ><

There is the possibility of going back and cutting down some of the earlier chapters in order to have more chapters available for later on. I know I really struggled at moving the plot forward in those earlier chapters and I don't think I can cut down much on this later stuff.
