Good news and bad news
First, the good news.
The good news is that, at around 11 last night, I finished Nights of Gethsemane. Well, okay, I didn't technically finish it. I still have to go through the long process of editing it and getting it through betas which (at the current beta rate), will be months. But . . . the first draft is finished. I could die tomorrow and I would still have a story to post XD
The bad news is that, as I was typing it up in my room, my internet connection was wonky and it cut out before I finished typing. As I use google docs with google gears to have offline access, I didn't care about this and shut down my computer. Only, when I went to turn on my computer this morning, it wouldn't go into windows >< I have no idea what is wrong with my computer and I don't know of any good computer shops here. It may be months before I am able to get another laptop >____<
I am currently writing from my friend's laptop, but I won't be able to get online as much as I did before. >< Hopefully I can somehow manage to either fix my old laptop or get another laptop before when I next return to the states because I can't imagine spending months borrowing computers.
Luckily, I didn't lose much of the ending of the story. I'll have to rewrite the last 500 words or so, but that's not too bad.
So, unless I find a major plot hole or get sudden inspiration to take the story in a completely different direction than it is now, the story will be 65 chapters long. The later chapters are much, much shorter than the earlier chapters. I have several that are under 3k, but so much happens in them, I think it's better to break them up and have several short chapters rather than a few really long, huge chapters.
I'll probably spend a couple of weeks going over the last chapters again and again, and then I'll start writing Invictus. I can't wait!
At the same time, I'm starting to clean up and edit an RP that I did with shantiwrites. I hope to turn it into a passable fic and post it. I'm not sure how long that will take, as it is the first piece I've ever (co)written in which the POV shifts and I've not grasped how to properly shift POVs yet. Anyway, here's to editing instead of writing!
